WHAT TOOK PLACE AT WRESTLEMANIA 22

WrestleMania 22 was the twenty-second annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by World Wrestling Entertainment. It took place on April 2, 2006 at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago, Illinois suburb of Rosemont. The event was the third WrestleMania to take place in the Chicago metropolitan area (following WrestleMania 2, and WrestleMania 13). The event, which sold out in under two minutes, grossed $2.5 million USD in ticket sales at the Allstate Arena, making it the highest grossing one-day event in the history of the arena. More than 17,155 people from 16 countries and 43 states attended, with millions more watching in more than 90 countries. [1]

WrestleMania 22 was a joint-promotion pay-per-view event, featuring performers from both the RAW and SmackDown! brands. The commentators for the RAW brand were Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, while the SmackDown! commentators were Michael Cole and Tazz. The Spanish language commentators were Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich. Joey Styles provided commentary for the hardcore match between Mick Foley and Edge. Lilian Garcia performed the ring announcing for the RAW bouts and Tony Chimel did the same for the SmackDown! matches.
